La Colombe D’Or in St. Paul de Vence – The Legend Goes On

A visit to La Colombe D’Or restaurant in the fortified village of Saint Paul de Vence in the South of France feels more like visiting an art exhibition. Paul Roux and his family have been at the helm of this legendary restaurant and hotel for almost a century. They have been amassing an incredible collection of 20th century art when they started to accept works of art as payment for their meals from artists like Picasso, Matisse, Miro, Calder, Leger, Chagall and many more. In spite of its rich history, its simple menu, good service and relaxed atmosphere is exactly what you expect from an establishment run by a family.

The opening weekend of the 37th edition of the International Balloon Festival of Château-d’Oex, from the 24th of January to the 1st of February 2015, closed on a beautiful sunny day. The two first days attracted over 5’000 visitors despite less than ideal weather conditions.
