[one_half]The Longines Saint-Imier Collection has been inspired by the foundations of the watchmaking tradition on which the brand, known by its winged hourglass trademark, has been built. Longines was set up in 1832 in what was then a small village nestling in a valley deep in the Swiss Jura mountains: Saint-Imier. The fate of Longines and the village of Saint-Imier has thus been closely interwoven. This long relationship has now been sealed by The Longines Saint-Imier Collection.[/one_half][one_half_last]Breitling introduces the “traveler’s chronograph” in a new size suited to all wrists. The Chronomat GMT comes in a new 44 mm diameter ready to conquer all wrists on all continents. This slightly smaller-sized version is also distinguished by its rotating bezel providing a 24-hour third timezone reading. By pulling out the crown and turning it forwards or backwards in one-hour increments enables instant adjustment to the time and date of the place where one is arriving – while maintaining 24-hour home-time display.[/one_half_last]

Several layers of translucent blue lacquer applied to the dial create an incomparable depth effect. Blancpain adopts a subtly balanced approach by introducing this original touch while preserving the pure lines of its most classic collection. Housed within its 40 mm-diameter white gold case, the ultra-slim Calibre 7663Q with its 244 parts and 34 jewels has a three-day power reserve.[/one_half][one_half_last]In 2011, TAG Heuer launched the Mikrotimer Flying 1000, the world’s first 500hz mechanical chronograph. The legendary Swiss brand is now unveiling Mikrogirder – a first Concept version, a 5/10,000th of a second chronograph beating at 1,000 Hz or 7,200,000 beats per hour. More than the Pendulum or the Mikrotimer, the Mikrogirder represents a total departure from the conventional, 3-centuries-old Christiaan Huygens system, which today still reigns over the mechanical watch industry.[/one_half_last]
