Dominique Schreckling’s  photo showcase should give you an overview of his work as a freelance photographer and member of the International Press Association.

He uses a wide range of photo equipment and cameras.  The Images you see come from the equi[ment he uses from a number of photo equipment manufacturers.

Dominique’s photo equipment includes his workhorse the Nikon D5.

The camera’s excellent AF (Auto Focus) performance coupled with great low light capabilities. This makes it his first choice when it comes to sports or indoor events.

Its loud shutter is hardly a problem at events like sailing, volleyball or a concert from Deep Purple.

However, the Nikon D5 is definitely too loud for stage photography.  Often he has to wait for the louder moments in a show to press the shutter.

“I decided I needed a camera I can use without disturbing the audience and I finally opted for the Sony a9.

Over the various firmware updates, the AF has been greatly improved and the electronic shutter makes it silent. The sensor readout with the electronic shutter is also fast enough to make it work, without a rolling shutter.”

“As a landscape camera, when speed, Auto Focus or low light is a real issue, I enjoy working with my a Fujifilm GFX50s camera.”
