Parade Around in Patterned Pants!

When we were younger and dressed by our parents, it may not have entered our minds as a child whether or not we liked the outfit, whether we considered it to be too daring or what we thought of any patterns or motifs emblazoned on our pants. We just went with it and were carefree.

This year, you will need to find your inner-child and carefree spirit as patterned pants are the statement trouser again this season and they’re still proving to be very popular.

This bold infusion of style has been seen continuously on the catwalk and the celebs are still loving it – and so should you.  Forget sensible and simple, the design of trousers have gone crazy and are bursting with life.  It’s all about ‘look at me’ and attention-craving trousers, which many A-listers can’t get enough of them.

Which Celebrities are Parading in Pattern?

Beyonce is a fashion favorite who is always on-trend.

Beyonce went out and about sporting a high impact, casual look by teaming her leopard print trousers with a black casual top and heels. Rihanna has mixed her metallic clothing by pairing a gold top with silver Stella McCartney pants.

Can Anybody Really Wear This Style of Pants?

Yes, they can! Put aside your trusty blue jeans, black jeans or colored jeans and choose to be less whimsical in 2012. This style has been so popular for the last three seasons. It remains alive and kicking in many stores now.

Patterned pants have been chosen as the statement piece of an outfit by many different celebrities. Regardless of shape, height, and size. Get used to seeing them around, and rather than looking and questioning.  You should be brave enough to add them to your wardrobe, just go ahead and try them!

Any pattern works whether you are a party fashionista like Alexa Chung in paisley or a pop-starlet in stripes like Fergie. You can even wear tartan a la Kate Moss! So you can go bold, bright and as colorful as you like.

How Do You Wear Them?

Heidi Klum has opted for a white top to contrast with her pants.

If you are nervous about wearing an eye-catching pattern, you can opt for a subtler and chic design by combining them with a plain, neutral color on top (black, white or beige). This will keep the style simple and the attention directed at the trousers.

You can never go wrong if you combine the patterned trousers with a black or white tank top and jacket. However, one piece of fashion advice that must be adhered to: be cautious of statement necklaces and in your face bags.  Keep it as simple as possible.

Stella McCartney has showcased her designs on a grander scale with bolder patterns printed onto her pants. Thus creating a pajama-style effect.

She introduced a lot of pajama prints and paisley patterns and it has been seen everywhere and styled by her.

With paisley and pajama patterns, it is better to pick a pair with a dark base color to make them more flattering.   Wide-legs, elongates the length of the leg and creating a column-style look and is a wearable look.  Especially with a simple, plain top.

The scarf-print style is also another popular print on the market which has been inspired by Dolce and Gabbana.  Be sure to buy a pair with a pattern that works down the body and the length of your leg. This helps to keep your leg looking long and slim.

For those who are more daring, you may opt for a brighter color clothing.  Forget all of those black, grey or blue cloths and bring color and patterns for the summer.

If you are a pear-shaped individual and curvaceous around the hips, opt for a wide-leg, dark base color with a simple pattern like large, individual flowers as that is where the attention will be drawn to on your pants.

By the end of the day, after you have stepped out in your patterned pants. Everybody will know that you are the one wearing the trousers!
