Spectacular NYC Circle Line Cruise To Statue of Liberty

It Was A Great Day In NYC

Circle Line logo@2x

I

t was a beautiful day and my son and grandson had never been on a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise at 42nd Street or the Intrepid Sea, Space and Air Museum.  So being the good grandfather I am and knowing a day in New York City with the family would be a lot of fun, I decided it would also be a great way to share these two New York popular attractions with our readers.

I contacted the public relations offices at Circle Line and at the Intrepid Museum to let them know my plans and requested the access we needed.  Both companies granted our media access request so our first stop for the day was the Circle Line 42nd Street Sightseeing cruise.  We took there one hour cruise around the Statue of Liberty which they call the Liberty Cruise.  This was the fastest and best way to see the Statue of Liberty. It would then give us the time we needed to visit the Intrepid Museum.

The cruise sails down the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty and back, viewing such sights as Ellis Island, the historic Ellis immigration center, One World Trade Center, and the World Financial Center, along the way.

See NYC & New Jersey By Water

The cruise is a really nice way to discover some of the history of both New York and New Jersey.  Their guide explained, in detail, all the sites, the buildings and the history of the areas we cruised by.  It was very informative and although it was a blistering hot day, it was so cool and delightful on the water.  I was told to take my photos from the bow of the boat which I did.

My grandson Reid had so much fun and you can see him wearing his sunglasses and hat as he watched the boats pass us by in the Hudson River and was amazed at the size and beauty of the Statue of Liberty. On our return, we pulled out our boxed lunches and drinks, picked a nice table with umbrella that Circle Line has set up for their guests and had our lunch.The-Beast-NYC

It was a beautiful way to start the day with my family and I would recommend the Circle Line Sightseeing at 42nd Street to everyone, both tourists and native New Yorker’s.  No matter which cruise you select the one hour Liberty Cruise or some of the longer ones, you will have a wonderful day on the water.

The Best Of NYC Cruise

In the past I had taken their longer cruise, their Best of NYC Cruise.  The cost of that cruise is only  $40 for Adults, Seniors $35 and Children $26, but if you reserve online you can save $5.  Discount tickets are also available online to check before you buy yours.

This “Best of NYC Cruise” cruise is a 2.5 hour cruise and is Circle Line’s most popular cruise and discover Manhattan like the great explorers. Take in over 101 city sights, including a magnificent close-up of the Statue of Liberty and:

HarlemGracie MansionSouth Street SeaportBrooklyn Bridge
Yankee StadiumThe CloistersGrant’s TombThe Little Red Lighthouse

The Beast Speedboat

Circle Line also operates their speedboat ride to and back from the Statue of Liberty called the BEAST.

The BEAST leaves all others in its wake as the Captain takes this custom-built 70-foot offshore racing powerboat up to 45 mph on a ride down to the Statue of Liberty.
