The New Tamron 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 Macro Lens-Spectacular

tamron-lenses

18-270mm[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s many of our readers know we love the Tamron lenses and use them for all the work I do with my Nikon D7100 and when using the Tamron_10-24_Zoom-2Nikon D810.

I have been using a number of the Tamron APS-C Lenses for years.  The one used most often is the all in one Tamron 18-270MM F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Zoom and my Tamron SP 10-24MM F/3.5-4.5 Di II . I use my Tamron SP 60MM F/2.0 Di II 1:1 Macro for portrait and close-up work and it offers me the ability to capture detail and give me that soft focus in the backgrounds that you can see in this photo of a rose in my garden.

Although I have not had the opportunity to test this new lens, from the reviews and videos I have seen, this might be the one to get for those of us that don’t want to constantly switch lenses on a shoot.

Since we cover many events in New York City and trade and consumer shows, having one lens that can do it all is the best way to handle our video and still photography.  You might think the difference is not that great when comparing the 16-300 to the older 18-270, but it actually is as you will see in their video.

Watch the two videos below, the first from Tamron that introduces the new lens and the second from B&H Photo that goes into a more detailed overview of this lens.

Right now Tamron is offering an $80 Rebate on this new lens, but it expires on Feb. 15th so go out now and buy one.B016_valentine20152

Watch for future articles and videos we will publish using this new lens too.
